Oak Forest dog walking that knows your block by name.

Shaggy Chic has been walking Oak Forest dogs since 2010. We know wide quiet streets, generous front yards, and a neighborhood that still waves at the dog walker, and we work the shady side of West 43rd, loop through TC Jester Park, and know exactly where the squirrels live (your dog already does). Your dog gets a consistent, trained team, GPS-tracked routes, and a photo report after every walk, not a stranger from a marketplace.

What you get in Oak Forest

  • A consistent team that knows your dog, never a stranger from an app
  • GPS-tracked routes with full photo + note report
  • W-2 employees: trained, background-checked, insured & bonded
  • Fear Free Certified handling: calm, low-stress, treat-positive
  • Pet First Aid + CPR certified team
  • TC Jester Park is a standard stop on Oak Forest routes — we know the layout, the good sniff corridors, and exactly where the squirrel concentration is highest
  • West 43rd reactive triggers are familiar to us — we route around them or work through them depending on your dog's specific pattern

In Oak Forest

Oak Forest has some of the best walking blocks in our service area — wide, low-traffic streets and TC Jester Park close enough to build into the regular route. We know the squirrel situation on West 43rd (your dog already does too), the best shade routes off North Shepherd, and which fenced yards have dogs who like to run the fence line. We route around them, or through them, depending on your dog.

Oak Forest · Frequently asked

What Oak Forest dog owners ask about walks.

Do you walk dogs throughout all of Oak Forest?

Yes — Oak Forest is one of our core neighborhoods. We've been walking dogs here since 2010 and we know the streets, the shade, and the good sniff spots. We start every new client with a no-cost meet & greet so your dog can meet the actual person doing the walks, not a rotating stranger.

What does a Shaggy Chic walk actually look like?

Every walk is GPS-tracked start to finish. At the end you get a full report: a note on how your dog did, how far they went, and at least one photo. We walk on consistent routes so your dog knows what to expect, and we use Fear Free handling — no rushing, no yanking, no stress. It's 30 real minutes, not 12 minutes of dog and 18 of driving.

How long are the walks, and what do they cost?

Our standard walk is 30 minutes at $35. We also do 60-minute walks for dogs that need more. Pricing and availability are confirmed at your free meet & greet — there are no hidden platform fees.

Are your walkers trained and insured?

Every walker on our team is a W-2 employee — background-checked, in-person trained, and covered under our $2M business liability policy. Owner Kristen Parkhurst is a Fear Free Certified Professional and a Certified Professional Pet Sitter. You're not getting a 1099 gig worker from an app.

Our dog goes absolutely feral for the squirrels on West 43rd. Can you handle that?

We know those squirrels very well. If your dog is reactive on that stretch, we route around it or walk with a technique that interrupts the fixation before it escalates. Fear Free handling means we set dogs up to succeed on walks, not just endure them. We'll talk through your dog's specific triggers at the meet & greet.
