Garden Oaks dog walking that knows your block by name.

Shaggy Chic has been walking Garden Oaks dogs since 2010. We know mature live oaks and the easy pace of an established neighborhood. From Shepherd Park, to Graham Park, to Garden Oaks Park, we know where to find the shade. While strolling the neighborhoods in between, we know which windows belong to the dogs who love a peek through the curtains to say hey. Your dog gets a consistent, trained team, GPS-tracked routes, and a photo report after every walk, not a stranger from a marketplace.

In Garden Oaks

Garden Oaks is one of the few Houston neighborhoods where dog walking actually feels like a neighborhood walk. We cover Shepherd Park, Graham Park, and Garden Oaks Park on regular rotation, and the shaded blocks in between. The mature tree canopy here keeps summer walks tolerable longer than most of our other service areas — we take advantage of that.

Kristen's team handled a week of overnight care for our anxious rescue while we were out of town. We came home to a dog who didn't even seem to notice we were gone. That's the bar.

Garden Oaks · Frequently asked

What Garden Oaks dog owners ask about walks.

Do you walk dogs throughout all of Garden Oaks?

Yes — Garden Oaks is one of our core neighborhoods. We've been walking dogs here since 2010 and we know the streets, the shade, and the good sniff spots. We start every new client with a no-cost meet & greet so your dog can meet the actual person doing the walks, not a rotating stranger.

What does a Shaggy Chic walk actually look like?

Every walk is GPS-tracked start to finish. At the end you get a full report: a note on how your dog did, how far they went, and at least one photo. We walk on consistent routes so your dog knows what to expect, and we use Fear Free handling — no rushing, no yanking, no stress. It's 30 real minutes, not 12 minutes of dog and 18 of driving.

How long are the walks, and what do they cost?

Our standard walk is 30 minutes at $35. We also do 60-minute walks for dogs that need more. Pricing and availability are confirmed at your free meet & greet — there are no hidden platform fees.

Are your walkers trained and insured?

Every walker on our team is a W-2 employee — background-checked, in-person trained, and covered under our $2M business liability policy. Owner Kristen Parkhurst is a Fear Free Certified Professional and a Certified Professional Pet Sitter. You're not getting a 1099 gig worker from an app.

Do you walk multiple dogs from the same household together?

Yes — when dogs from the same household walk better together, we walk them together. Garden Oaks has a lot of two-dog households, and we scope the dynamic at the meet & greet. If they pull different directions or one is reactive, we talk through the best setup before the first walk.
